Concepts and Vans Old Skool Discount are continuing their long-standing collaborative relationship with Vans Old Skool Womens inspired by the culture surrounding Times Square in the 1970s. Entitled the “Forty Deuce” (slang for NYC’s 42nd Street), the sneaker features a bleached black denim and cracked black leather upper with a debossed Concepts logo on the heel pad and waxed black laces. A black midsole and classic black Vans outsole round off the shoe’s throwback aesthetic.

Concepts and Vans are sparking up their partnership again this spring for a special 4/20 release of the Vans Old Skool Mens “Jamaica”. Celebrating the unofficial marijuana holiday, Concepts crafts the Vans Old Skool featuring a vintage print from the country most closely associated with the green herb, Jamaica. The Old Skool is constructed with the print on canvas paneling across the upper with suede in three shades: green, cream, and a more limited friends & family orange.

Vans — despite leaving these core classics largely untouched for the past few decades — has begun to implement a more eclectic design ideology as marked by its reconstructed Vans Sk8-Hi and Vans Slip-Ons. Keeping the iconic low-top silhouette and suede/canvas tooling of the Vans Old Skool Cheap, the California brand brings back the model in white and black with a removable checkerboard jazz stripe which lifts to reveal a red variation of the same print.

UK-based size? is making a strong case for the Vans collaborator of the year. After creating “Factory Floor” Vans Old Skool for Sale that utilized sewn-together scraps of material for a wild patchwork look and Vans Style 36s inspired by made-to-order samples, they’re back on the collaborative trail again with a fresh collaborative take on the Vans Slip-On.
