Masters Champion Trevor Immelman will join Americans Matt Kuchar and Gary Woodland as part of Team World in the inaugural Canada Cup Match to take place at Ashburn Golf Club – New Course in Halifax, Nova Scotia on Monday, June 30, 2014. Marvin Webster Jersey .  The Canada Cup is part of GOLFest Nova Scotia, a week-long celebration of national pride and all things golf in Canada that will also feature a Web.com Tour event, the Nova Scotia Open, from June 29 to July 6. Hailing from Cape Town, South Africa, Immelman has eleven worldwide victories. He is a two-time champion on the PGA TOUR, three-time champion on the European Tour and five-time champion on the Sunshine Tour (South Africa). In 2013, Immelman won the first event of the Web.com Tour Finals at the Hotel Fitness Championship in Fort Wayne, Indiana.   No stranger to international team competition, Immelman represented the International Team in the 2005 and 2007 Presidents Cup. In fact, Immelman was paired with Canada Cup competitor Mike Weir for three out of four team matches in 2005. Immelman also won the Omega Mission Hills World Cup (now ISPS HANDA World Cup) with fellow South African Rory Sabbatini in 2003, a feat his team World partners, Matt Kuchar and Gary Woodland, also accomplished in 2011.                                                         "I am excited to represent the World alongside Matt and Gary as we compete against Team Canada in what will be a special day for golf in Canada and around the world. I know Canadians are very passionate and supportive of their country when it comes to sports. The Canada Cup is a unique format that I am sure will create a fun and entertaining environment for all. I look forward to sharing this experience with all the players and spectators as I visit Halifax, Nova Scotia for the first time in June," said Immelman.  From a young age, golf has always been in Immelmans blood. With the guidance of his older brother Mark, Immelman began playing golf at the age of five. By age twelve he was a scratch golfer. Immelmans father, Johan is a former commissioner of the Sunshine Tour and Mark is currently the golf coach at Columbus (Georgia) State University and a part-time announcer on Sirius/XM PGA TOUR Radio Network.  "Trevor is a great player who has won one of most prestigious tournaments in all of golf. The Canada Cup is going to be a great experience for golf fans and the battle for international bragging rights is going to be entertaining and hard fought. Mike, Graham and I are excited to welcome Matt, Gary and Trevor to Halifax and we cannot wait to get the Canadian crowds behind us cheering for Team Canada," said Hearn The six PGA TOUR players participating in the 2014 Canada Cup have won a combined 20 PGA TOUR events and earned a total of $84,561,059 in career money. In this weeks Leaf Report podcast, James Mirtle and Jonas Siegel debate whether Toronto can continue their shootout dominance and discuss what Dave Nonis game plan should be heading into the trade deadline.Gold has once again escaped the grasp of Team USA. The mens hockey team will now try to avoid leaving the Sochi Olympics without a medal at all as they battle Finland in the bronze medal game on Saturday. The United States squared off against Canada on Friday in a rematch of the 2010 gold medal game. And like those Vancouver Games, Canada got the better of the U.S. by handing the Americans a 1-0 setback. Jonathan Quick, who finishes the tournament today as the U.S. starting goaltender, was solid in net for the U.S. and posted 36 saves, but an offense that tied Finland for the most goals in the preliminary round (15) failed to get a shot by Canadian netminder Carey Price. Price ended with 31 saves to advance Canada into the gold medal game against Sweden. The only goal allowed by Quick came at 1:41 of the second period as Canadas Jay Bouwmeester unleashed a low, hard shot from the left point that was redirected into the net by Jamie Benn. The defeat dropped the U.S. to 1-4 in Olympic action against Canada since NHL players began competing in 1998. That includes an overtime setback four years ago in Vancouver. Tommy Burleson Jersey. Looking to secure a chance at winning its first Olympic gold medal, Finland instead saw its offense struggle as well in a 2-1 setback to Sweden on Friday. Without goaltender Tuukka Rask due to illness, Finland got 23 stops from Kari Lehtonen. Olli Jokinen was the lone Finn to beat Swede goaltender Henrik Lundqvist, who made 25 saves. Rask will get the start in goal for the medal game. Jokinen was in the penalty box when Sweden netted its game-winning goal in the second period as Erik Karlsson scored on a one-time blast with 3:34 on the clock. The Finns had a power-play opportunity midway through the third, but failed to cash in and didnt have many good scoring chances the rest of the way. Finland is looking to secure an Olympic medal for the fifth time in the last six Olympic Games. The Finns won bronze in 2010 after taking silver four years prior. The U.S., which has not won gold since the 1980 Games in Lake Placid, won silver in 2002 and four years ago in Vancouver after being held without a medal in 2006. The last time the Americans won a bronze medal was in 1936. ' ' '
