HOUSTON -- Jose Altuve leads the majors in hits and is 11 away from 200 for the season. Air Force 1 High Wholesale . He insists hes not counting. "If youre thinking hits, youre not paying attention to wins," Altuve said Sunday after leading the Houston Astros past the Texas Rangers 3-2. Altuve matched his career high with four hits, including two doubles. His single with two outs in the eighth inning drove in the go-ahead run. Matt Dominguez hit a tying home run off reliever Neal Cotts (2-8) with one out in the eighth to make it 2-all. Jake Marisnick was hit by a pitch, stole second and scored on Altuves single. "Hes the kind of guy you want to have in that situation," Dominguez said. "It seems he gets three hits a game." Dominguez had an RBI single earlier in the game. The Astros won a series for the first time since Aug. 19-21 at Yankee Stadium. Jose Veras (3-1) got the win and Chad Qualls posted his 16th save. Dallas Keuchel went seven innings for the Astros, allowing two runs and five hits. He struck out three and walked two. "Each and every time this guy goes to the mound we feel pretty good about our chances as a team to win the ballgame," Astros manager Bo Porter said. "Today was no different." Alex Rios doubled and singled for Texas, driving in a run and scoring run. His RBI single in the sixth scored Daniel Robertson to put Texas ahead 2-1. Rios doubled and scored on Ryan Ruas grounder in the first inning. "My only concern when I go out there and play is to limit the other team to (fewer) runs that what we score," Keuchel said. "In the month of August I really didnt do my job. Im just thankful we got the win today." Texas rookie Nick Martinez pitched 5 1-3 innings, giving up one run and six hits. He struck out four and walked three. "I told him he did his job when he came off the field," Rangers manager Ron Washington said. "It was up to the bullpen to finish it off. We had the two best weve got in there and we just didnt do it." Porter praised his team for coming up with clutch runs late in the game. Keuchel said thats the difference between this years team and last seasons squad. "This is team is a year older, a year wiser and were not where we want to be yet, but were getting there," Keuchel said. "Whether we are crawling or inching, were going to fight. Thats really the big difference." That, and they have players like Altuve on their side. "Hes been unreal all year," Dominguez said. FINDING HIS GROOVE Dominguezs 2-for-4, 2-RBI outing was a much-needed boost for the third baseman. "Hes been in a funk, and hes been working hard," Porter said. "He got a pitch that he could handle and put a really good swing on that ball." Dominguez, whose eight-inning homer was the first at Minute Maid Park since late July, said the extra work is paying off. "Im feeling a little bit more confident at the plate," he said. ROTATION WOES The Rangers are keeping a close eye on RHP Miles Mikolas as they decide on the fifth spot of the rotation. "Lets see how Mikolas is," Washington said. "If we feel we need to miss him another start we can always fill it with (Scott) Baker. Robbie (Ross Jr.) is in the mix, but well see where it goes." Mikolas was scratched from Saturdays start with shoulder fatigue. Texas plans to start RHP Colby Lewis, LHP Derek Holland and RHP Nick Tepesch at Kansas City. TRAINERS ROOM Rangers: Whether RHP Yu Darvish (right elbow) can return to the mound this season remains unclear. "I dont know," Washington said. "Waiting until Dr. (Keith) Meister tells him he can pick up a baseball to make a decision." Darvish was placed on the 15-day DL Aug. 13, retroactive to Aug. 10. Astros: INF Marwin Gonzalez was kept out of the lineup one day after being scratched with discomfort in his right hamstring. Gregorio Petit started at SS. UP NEXT Rangers: Lewis (9-11) looks to build on his previous outing -- his second complete game of the season, snapping a three-game losing streak -- when he starts Monday night at Kansas City. Astros: After an off-day, Houston starts RHP Brad Peacock (3-8) on Tuesday night at home against the Los Angeles Angels. He is looking for his first win since July 8. Air Force 1 Yellow Outlet . The seventh-ranked Berdych wants to focus on the ATP Tour after helping the Czechs beat the Netherlands in the first round. Seeking their third straight Davis Cup title, the Czechs will rely again on veteran Radek Stepanek. Air Force 1 Grey Store . Of all the names out there who could realistically be dealt by Wednesdays deadline, Ryan Kesler remains No. 1 on the most desired list. And while were not sure if theyre any closer to a deal, we now have a defined price. http://www.airforce1storesale.com/fake-sf-af1-outlet.html . The 27-year-old forward has informed the Leafs that he will be unable to play in Monday nights home game against the Columbus Blue Jackets. PITTSBURGH -- Arizona Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson was looking for a spark. His team was coming off what he called its worst game of the season. So Gibson moved outfielder David Peralta into the second spot of the batting order. He responded with three hits, including a two-run homer, and four RBIs as the Diamondbacks beat the Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday night to avoid a series sweep. "I moved him up in the lineup because hes put the bat on the ball and hes been very consistent for us," Gibson said. "Hes very aggressive and he will play anywhere you ask him." Peralta was more ready for the chance than even his manager might have known. "We had a little team meeting among the players after (Wednesday nights 5-1 loss) and just said to remember that we are a good team," he said. "I think it motivated everybody. It left everybody with a good feeling." Arizona scored three runs in the sixth and put the game away with seven in the ninth. "The first game was devastating because they came back and stole it for us and then we played our worst game of the year last night," Gibson said. "We came back with a good effort today, played a good, clean game, got good pitching, some clutch hits then were able to have some fun in that last inning." The Pirates are 0 for 8 in chances to sweep opposing teams this season. They looked primed to get their first sweep as starter Vance Worley retired the first 12 batters he faced and carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning. Ender Inciarte broke up Worleys no-hit bid with an RBI single with one out in the sixth. Peralta followed with his third home run of the year which barely cleared the 21-foot-high fence in right field and gave Arizona a 3-2 lead. After a strikeout and groundout against Worley in his first two at-bats, Peralta was prepared for his third trip to the plate. "I thought Ill get him next time," Peralta said. "The next time, he gave me a pitch I could hit. My whole approach is always to wait for my pitch and thats what I did in that at-bat." Miguel Montero was the first Diamondback to reach base after he worked a leadoff walk in the fifth. Pittsburgh scored in the third on a double by Jordy Mercer and RBI groundout by Gregory Polanco. The Pirates opened the fourth with hits by Neil Walker, Russell Martin and Ike Davis to extend their lead to 2-0. Walker started the inning with a double and scored on Davis single. Brandon McCarthy (3-10)) was pulled in the sixth after issuing a two-out walk to Davis. Air Force 1 Off White Fake. He threw 5 2-3 innings and allowed two runs and eight hits, walked two and struck out six as he needed to work through some issues on the mound in the early stages of his start. "Some starts you feel great out of the gates but it wasnt quite there for me," McCarthy said. "I was able to hang in there and when things got dicey, I was able to make pitches." Pirates manager Clint Hurdle was pleased with his teams overall approach against McCarthy but acknowledged the inability to capitalize on extending the lead when Pedro Alvarez grounded into a double play in the fourth inning. "The double play in the fourth cut down some momentum we were building," Hurdle said. "We got one run in, first and second with no outs, he was able to get through that and cut off that inning. We didnt score another run the rest of the game." Worley (2-1) went seven innings and gave up three runs, four hits and two walks. He struck out six while taking his first losing decision as a Pirate. "Early on I was able to get ahead in the count, throw strikes and make them swing," Worley said. "And then as the game continued on I lost command of the two-seam fastball and was getting behind. The one inning, one pitch." Arizona sent 11 batters to the plate in the ninth and scored seven runs on eight hits. Pittsburgh reliever Ernesto Frieri gave up five hits to the six batters he faced and all of them scored. Frieri was pulled after recording just one out for Jeanmar Gomez, who entered with the bases loaded and allowed all three inherited runners to score before being charged with two runs of his own. "We some good at-bats early, hit three rocket shots in the second inning that we didnt have anything to show for," Gibson said. "Our guys stayed with it, kept the pressure on and finally got a couple of big hits." NOTES: A replay review of 4:13 overturned a safe ruling as Polanco attempted to steal second base in the fifth inning. ...
